For as long as I can remember, I’ve been making things - if I could create it, I did. One of my earliest memories is playing with mum's jewellery collection and anything that sparkled. That feeling never left me.
I worked in fashion and marketing when I had my first baby and wanted to mark the moment with something that would last, but didn't want a tattoo. When I couldn't find what I wanted, I made myself a necklace with his name on it instead.
That was the first Misuzi piece, made right here in Melbourne, in 2008. This grew to friends ordering and led to my first store order which sold out in a weekend.
18 years and 3 babies under 3 later (yes, chaos!), every single piece is still made by hand, to order, in our Melbourne studio. No mass production, no shortcuts - just considered, slow design rooted in a genuine belief that what you wear should last, and mean something.
We only ever use tarnish and water-resistant metals - 14k Gold Filled, Sterling Silver, heavy micron 9k and 18k gold plating, and Vermeil - because beautiful jewellery should survive real life, not just special occasions.
